Three Sessions, One Goal: Better Capital Decisions for Wisconsin Founders
At Valency Fund, we're hosting "Capital That Fits" during ForwardFest this August to bring together the expertise, stories, and frameworks that founders need to make informed capital decisions.
Session 1: The Funding Landscape Panel
This panel brings together funders across the risk:reward spectrum to discuss how different capital providers evaluate opportunities. We’ll talk about traditional venture capital as well as alternatives such as structured exits and revenue based financing. Founders will learn how different financial vehicles impact the risk:reward profile of funds and how that impacts their investment decisions.
You'll hear from:
Maggie Graff-Nan Capital Manager at Hill Capital - Based in Minneapolis, MN, Hill Capital uses an Equity Based Note™ to take equity risk while maintaining optionality for the business owner. Patrick has experience in direct private and public investments, investment banking, and equity research.
Drew Beard, Associate at Serra Ventures - With roots in the Midwest, Serra Ventures invests in early growth stage companies with deep technology. Drew has public accounting experience, including valuation engagements in industries ranging from private equity and venture capital to farming and agribusiness.
Session 2: Founder Stories Panel
In this session, founders will share their experiences growing their companies with alternative capital. These founders will discuss why they chose alternative capital, how it impacted their growth trajectory, and what other founders should consider when evaluating these options.
Session 3: Financial Readiness Workshop
